Rock Of Ages producer Matthew Weaver is developing a musical based on U.S. variety show Soul Train.
The hit programme was originated by late Tv mogul Don Cornelius and was broadcast in America from 1971 to 2006.
The series featured guest musicians including Michael Jackson, Elton John and Destiny's Child performing on the show, while audience members danced along to the music.
Weaver has now been handed the task of adapting the concept for a new Broadway production.
He says, "Don Cornelius created a television show that became a cornerstone in American culture and I am excited and honoured to be bringing it to the stage. We are putting together a top-notch team of artists to ensure Soul Train is the hippest trip on Broadway."
