Glee star Matthew Morrison was left baffled after receiving a distinguished alumnus award from his alma mater because he never actually graduated.
The actor, who studied at the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts in the late 1990s, dropped out before receiving his degree to star in the Broadway play Footloose, but that decision doesn't seem to matter to administrators.
Morrison says, "It's funny to me... I just got this award, I went to Nyu Tisch School of the Arts and I got this award for alumnus of the decade or alumnus of the year. It was the inaugural time, the first time they had ever given this award. And I'm very honoured to get it, but I never graduated college.
"I don't know if they know that or not. But it's just one of those funny things. The success of Glee has been so big, everyone wants a piece of it."
