Matthew Mcconaughey and his model girlfriend Camila Alves have become parents to a baby boy, it has been confirmed.
The Fool's Gold star and his Brazilian partner welcomed their first child into the world at 18:22 PT (02:22 BST), though the boy's name has not yet been confirmed.
The Texan actor told OK! magazine: "A healthy baby boy was born."
He went on: "Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world - having a child and making a family."
McConaughey added: "Now comes the greatest adventure raising one, together."
The 38-year-old confirmed Alves' pregnancy in a post on his website in January, writing: "My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together."
"It's three months growing' in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far," he added.
"We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life."
McConaughey can next be seen in comedy Surfer Dude and in a cameo role in upcoming action comedy Tropic Thunder.
