WILD THINGS star Matt Dillon adores the grit of New York City over the glitz of Los Angeles - especially because people in the Big Apple are much more open to others than in insular LA.
The screen hunk, born and bred in New York, can't bear the lack of tolerance in Hollywood, and admits his new movie CRASH is based on that very subject.
He says, "I love the way (New York) throws you together with all different people from all walks of life. That doesn't happen in LA.
"People live a lot more separate from each other, insulated, you know, and they're a lot more suspicious of each other, especially people from different races, and that's what Crash is really about, much as I hate to talk in generalities.
"What can I say? In my bones I'm a New Yorker."
