Filming on the all-female Ocean’s outing in Ocean’s Eight began earlier this year and, in a little nod to the original outing, one of Ocean’s Eleven’s main stars will be making a cheeky cameo: Matt Damon.

The star, who played Linus Caldwell in the all-male 11 and 12 films, will feature "a little bit" in the newest franchise which is being headed by Sandra Bullock and produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh.

Speaking at the premiere for his newest film, Manchester By The Sea, Damon spoke about the spin-off and described the cast as "phenomenal".

Bullock will be joined by a bevy of talented females including Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina and Dakota Fanning.

While Damon may not have seen the script yet, Bonham Carter has and called it "hilarious".

She said: "It’s a great script and it’s great for women. Just hilarious.

"When everyone says, ‘Well, most characters in commercial films can just as easily be played by a woman’, well, I can tell you, it’s true.

"That’s what they’ve just done with this."

Ocean’s Eight will hit cinemas in June 2018.
