Matt Damon is considering reprising his role in a second Bourne Identity sequel after Universal Studios bosses sealed a reported $2 million (GBP1.2 million) deal with Tony Gilroy to script the movie.

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM will be the third film in the hit series which has already grossed more than $500 million (GBP280 million) worldwide.

The films chart the life of ex CIA spy and assassin MICHAEL BOURNE and are based on the hit books by ROBERT LUDLUM.

The Bourne Ultimatum will be released in 2007 but Damon will not make a decision until Gilroy's script is finished. As yet no director has been named.
