Mobile phones were also reportedly banned from the ceremony. The couple became engaged in March 2014, when Olivier proposed for the second time during a romantic holiday to Jamaica. The 46-year-old then presented Olsen with a 4-carat vintage Cartier diamond ring.

Earlier this year Olsen told Women's Wear Daily that she had been contemplating designing her own gown but she was in no rush to walk down the aisle. 'I'm like not even there yet,' she said. 'I think it may be a matter of getting five or six or making two or three and being stressed out. That seems kind of far away. We’ll take one step at a time.'
