Former Desperate Housewives star Steven Culp is returning to the hit show to narrate an episode focusing on the male characters of the series.
Culp's character REX VAN DE KAMP - husband of MARCIA CROSS' character BREE VAN DE KAMP - was killed off on the show last year (05).
The show's regular narrator, Brenda Strong's character Mary Alice Young was killed in the very first episode, and now looks down on the comings and goings on Wisteria Lane from beyond the grave.
Desperate Housewives star Brenda Strong has let slip castmate Eva Longoria's 2007 wedding date details - by inadvertently revealing it falls a day before her own wedding anniversary.
Longoria became engaged to basketball player Tony Parker last week (ends01DEC06) and revealed the couple is planning a summer wedding in her fiance's native France next year (07), but has refused to name the date.
But careless Strong has let slip the fact the wedding will be in Paris next July (07), after revealing she hopes to celebrate her own wedding anniversary at her pal's big day.
Strong, who wed her husband TOM HENRI in 1989, says, "The great news is that her wedding date is one day before our anniversary, so we'll get to actually spend our anniversary with them in Paris."
It's not the first important date Strong, who plays narrator Mary Alice Young in the show, shares with her castmates - her and MARCIA CROSS both celebrate their birthdays on 25th March.
Actress Nicollette Sheridan has reportedly been taking yoga classes to enhance her fertility at a studio owned by her Desperate Housewives co-star Brenda Strong. Strong, who provides the voice for the show's 'dead' narrator Mary Alice Young, owns the Yoga Villa in North Hollywood, California, and holds special classes called Yoga 4 Fertility. Sheridan, who is engaged to singer Michael Bolton, has reportedly become a regular at the popular yoga sessions. A source tells America's Star magazine, "When Nicollette came out of the class, she was absolutely glowing. "She was gushing to a friend that she hopes the classes work." The 42-year-old actress is currently childless, while Bolton has three grown daughters from his previous marriage.
Actress MARCIA CROSS read the first script for hit TV show Desperate Housewives and immediately yearned to play the show's narrator Mary Alice Young, not her character BREE VAN DE CAMP. The redhead star was in Utah working on US TV show EVERWOOD, when her agent and manager sent her a copy of the script to read. She explains, "They said, 'This is the hottest script; you've got to read it.' "Originally I wanted to be the narrator - which is an odd thing, I know, but it appealed to me. "When I auditioned though, (Desperate Housewives creator) MARC CHERRY said, 'No, no, no. I want you to read for Bree.' "I actually read cold for Bree right then, and they wanted to test me. In the end I actually didn't get the part right away. "They told me wonderful things, but offered it to someone else. That person - who shall remain nameless - turned it down."
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star Brenda Strong has been hiding a health secret from fans - she was such a fitness freak, she developed Secondary Infertility. The actress, who plays dead narrator Mary Alice Young in the hit series, had planned for a big family after she gave birth to her son JOHN 11 years ago, but doctors stunned her when they revealed she'd never conceive again - unless she drastically changed her lifestyle. Now a spokeswoman for the American Fertility Association, Strong reveals her obsession to look her best took its toll on her motherhood plans. She explains, "I couldn't believe it was happening to me. Secondary Infertility is where you've already had a child but when you try to have another, your body isn't co-operating. "It was a combination of stress, age, and the impact that drastic weight loss had on my body. "A trainer got me in the so-called best shape of my life. Well apparently my body disagreed because I wasn't cycling normally and you can't get pregnant if you're not ovulating." Strong gave up her stringent fitness programme, put on a little weight and conceived a second child, but tragically miscarried. Now she's just happy to be a mother of one with a huge extended family. She adds, "At that time (of the miscarriage) a stepdaughter and my sister were also pregnant. Now I have plenty of babies in my life."
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star Brenda Strong has been recording her voiceover for the hit drama from remote Tennessee, where she's filming a new movie about the history of the Mormons.
Strong, who plays dead narrator Mary Alice Young in the hit show, landed a leading role in period epic THE WORK AND THE GLORY but feared she'd have to turn the part down because of her commitment to Desperate Housewives.
But generous Housewives creator MARC CHERRY gave her permission to leave Wisteria Lane - as long as she recorded her voiceovers in between takes.
