Martina McBride, Leann Rimes and Patrick Swayze's wife have all paid tribute to Roy Orbison's widow, who died on the 23rd anniversary of the rocker's passing.
Barbara Orbison, 60, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday (06Dec11), exactly 23 years after her singer husband died on 6 December, 1988.
Swayze's widow Lisa Niemi has offered her condolences to the Orbison family after losing the Dirty Dancing star to the same disease in September 2009.
She says, "Patrick and I always had a warm connection with them both. Now we have lost this wonderful lady."
MCBride took to her Twitter.com page to write, "Sad to hear about Barbara Orbison passing. Such a great lady," and Rimes 'tweeted', "R.I.P Beautiful Barbara" alongside a photo of the Pretty Woman singer smiling and embracing his wife.
The Sopranos star Maureen Van Zandt also sent her sympathies, adding, "Just heard that Barbara Orbison, Roy's widow, died in LA. So upset. We spent a lot of time with her at various events. Lovely woman. She was very close friends with a dear friend of ours."
The pair recently enjoyed their first visit to the interactive experience in New York.
