Martin Sheen will be bringing his Uncle Ben character back from the dead for The Amazing Spider-Man sequel.

Peter Parker's patriarch was killed in director Marc Webb's first Spider-Man movie, but the former West Wing star has revealed he has been told to report to work on the follow-up.

Sheen tells Ireland's The Late Late Show, "They called me back. I don't know what the part's going to be, but I'm going to be Uncle Ben once again in Spider-Man next year."

He'll join Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Sally Field and villains Dane Dehaan and Jamie Foxx in the sequel.
