The British thespian directed and starred in a critically-acclaimed adaptation of the William Shakespeare play for the Manchester International Festival in 2013, and Scorsese saw the production when it was revived in New York last year (14).

Editors at Britain's Daily Mail newspaper reported in January (15) that Scorsese met with Branagh to discuss making a documentary about the show, but the pair is now said to be planning to re-stage the play in Hertfordshire, England while the director and his film crew capture the live action.

Branagh is said to be recruiting the play's original cast, including ER actress Alex Kingston, for the revival which Scorsese will film over a three-week period.
