Friday The 13th Part 3: 3D Review

Weak
Originally shot in 3D and now impossible to find in that format, this silly sequel throws every 3D trick in the book at you -- from broom handles to TV antennas to rats pointing out of the screen. Oh, and of course there's splatter effects-a-plenty, all shooting straight at us... hoping to make us forget how utterly dumb this entry into the already tapped-out Friday the 13th series is. (Incidentally, this is the movie where Jason dons the hockey mask for the first time; in the first two episodes he (or whoever the killer might have been) wore a pillow case with holes cut in it.)

Friday The 13th: A New Beginning Review

Terrible
After promising that part 4 was The Final Chapter, here comes Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (aka part 5). No Corey Feldman. No Crispin Glover. No someone else... though that'd be a rotten spoiler to reveal. Here we find part 4's Tommy Jarvis slightly older (and recast) and gone crazy, with plenty more terrorizing underway. Widely considered the worst of the Friday the 13th series... and that's hard to argue with. (Best scene: Blonde girl gets hacked up as she practices doing The Robot in her room.)
