Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine found it difficult adjusting to his band's new line-up after the departure of drummer Ryan Dusick last September (07).
The This Love rocker admits it was a tough time when Dusick quit the group after nerve injuries left him unable to perform, but concedes his replacement Matt Flynn has brought "discipline" to the band and reignited their passion for music.
He says, "I would be lying if I said it wasn't difficult for us. When you change a member, it takes some adjusting. We were all under pressure to make this big, amazing, second record and on top we had to adjust to this new situation.
"Luckily, we came out of it unharmed. We found Matt, although we had to adjust to his style. He is a straight-ahead rock drummer, whereas Ryan was a bit jazzier. Matt's really made his mark on this album. He's also brought discipline and fire into the band."
