Heavyweight Hollywood star Marlon Brando is returning to the big screen - to play himself.
The 80-year-old has agreed to his first film role since 2001's The Score, which will follow a young boy who travels to America to meet his film hero.
Called BRANDO AND BRANDO, the $5.4 million (GBP3 million) movie will be directed by Tunisian filmmaker RIDHA BEHI, with shooting expected to begin in the summer (04).
Speaking at the current Cannes Film Festival, the film's producer NORMA HEYMAN paid tribute to Behi's script, which she called "one of the best I have ever read in my life", for convincing Brando to break his self-imposed cinematic exile.
She adds, "Marlon Brando has turned down every single film - but Ridha's script has done the trick. It's very special."20/05/2004 13:54
