Feeling underappreciated and frequently undermined, many single mothers have to go through a lot to keep their children happy and to make sure they have as normal a life as possible. However, no matter how hard one might try, sometimes the children will inevitably get themselves into trouble and when five mothers of very different backgrounds are called into school when their offspring are found vandalising the school, they are forced to work together to organise and chair the upcoming annual fundraiser. The parents soon find, however, that they have much more in common than they initially thought and decide to set up a support group for desperate single mothers going through similar experiences. With new people there for each other, they help one another to find love again and get their confused and hectic lives back on track.

Malcom and Kisha are a young couple who have just moved into the house of their dreams. However, it isn't long before both start experiencing paranormal activity on the premises and decide to install cameras around the house to catch any unusual footage on film. There turns out to be plenty of activity being picked up by the cameras such as other-worldly flatulence, thrown furniture and the couple being dangerously dragged and thrown about the house (which turns out to be surprisingly exciting). They enlist the help of various 'experts' including an outlandishly homosexual psychic, a pair of eccentric ghost busters and a group of their own thuggish friends. It soon becomes clear that the house isn't the thing that is being haunted as the spirit resides in Kisha, manifesting itself into a bizarre possession; Malcolm decides the only way to rid themselves of this dangerous force is an exorcism so he asks for help from a willing priest, Father Doug, who sets out to contact the Kisha's inner demon and save Malcolm's partner. not to mention their suffering sex life.

A low-budget, low-income slice-of-life movie oozing with community atmosphere and authentic affinity, "Our Song" will likely come and go in a blip from your local art house theater. But it deserves better.
Simply but vividly portraying the largely uneventful dog days of summer for three project-dwelling teenage girls in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood, writer-director Jim McKay ("Girls Town") scores such supremely natural performances from his trio of unknown stars that you feel as if you're eavesdropping on their lives.
Kerry Washington plays Lanisha, a coy 15-year-old with enough little girl left in her to absentmindedly smile and rock her shoulders to and fro when she thinks about boys. But Lani is prematurely worldly as well, having been pregnant once already -- a secret she confides to her best friend Maria, who has just gotten knocked up herself.

Although propped up by the art house cachet of being part of the experimental Dogme95 minimalist cinema movement, the high school reunion dramedy "Reunion" cannot seem to escape the semi-stock characters and formulaic catharses that are par for the genre course.
Reuniting with their former teenage clique in Ojai, California, the half dozen 1981 graduates focused on by writer Kimberly Shane O'Hara and director Lief Tilden are seen largely though the eyes of Jeanie (Jennifer Rubin), an outsider that none of the film's group of friends recognizes from their teens. She had been an awkward wallflower in school, but has since blossomed into a confident, worldly coquette (and very unconvincing professional photographer).
Jeanie blows into town to exorcise some personal demons by revealing her successful adult self to those who once ignored her and by sleeping with the former school stud (Billy Wirth), who is now bitter about winding up a lowly bus driver -- and more than willing to oblige the off-kilter advances of this pretty, esoteric woman he doesn't remember at all as a girl.
