Mark Ruffalo was ''so sad'' when he had to wear polka dot pyjamas to portray The Hulk on the set of 'Avengers Assemble', according to his co-star Scarlett Johansson.
Scarlett Johansson - who played Black Widow in the Marvel superhero movie - joked Mark's motion capture suit, which he wore to portray The Hulk, was ''very ill fitting'', while Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) thought he and Scarlett ''got lucky'' with their costumes compared to Mark.
In a joint interview with Magic 105.4, he said: ''We got lucky I think with our costumes, I think they were most comfortable.''
Scarlett explained: ''Nothing like muscle suits, we don't need any of that stuff,'' while Jeremy added: ''Or the polka dotted pyjamas that Mark Ruffalo had to wear...it was the motion capture suit.
''Then they stuck a tiara on him with those dots on his face he looked ridiculous.''
Mark previously admitted it was ''pretty daunting'' filming alongside such a star-studded cast, and he wished he had a ''cool'' costume to wear rather than a leotard ''painted like a Chinese checkerboard''.
He said: ''Coming onto the set with all of those guys was pretty daunting. Many of my heroes in life are in this cast. So, I knew that I had big shoes to fill, so to speak.
''It was tough, and I wish that I had a cool costume to wear the entire time, instead of a leotard that was painted like a Chinese checkerboard.''
