Superproducer Mark Ronson has defended Beyonce's version of Amy Winehouse's hit Back To Black, insisting he feels "flattered and honoured" by the cover.

Beyonce teamed up with rapper Andre 3000 to re-record the 2007 track for Leonardo DiCaprio's new movie The Great Gatsby, but Winehouse's father Mitch was unimpressed by their collaboration, tweeting, "I just heard the Andre part of Back to Black. Terrible. He should have let Beyonce do it all."

He also told Britain's Daily Mail, "I don't think she brings anything to it... They have got to pay for the privilege (to cover the song), which is what they are doing. I can't tell you how much it is but it's a lot of money."

However, Ronson, who produced and co-wrote the original version, is full of praise for Beyonce's Back to Black and even played it on his East Village Radio show on Friday (26Apr13).

He said, "I'm flattered and honoured. I know Amy would be too."
