Blink-182 frontman Mark Hoppus stopped a charity gig in New York on Wednesday night (11Sep13) to urge security guards not to eject a female stage invader after the woman jumped a barrier to dance with him.
The rockers performed at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn to raise funds for good causes on the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks which devastated New York City in 2001.
During the show, a female gig-goer evaded security guards and jumped on stage to dance with the singer before she was hauled away by burly bodyguards.
However, Hoppus pleaded with the guards to leave her alone and let her return to the audience to see the rest of the concert, saying, "Please don't kick her out. Do you have to kick her out?"
The singer's pleas were heard and the woman was allowed to stay.
Hoppus also came to the rescue of another female fan at the show when he spotted men touching her inappropriately while she was crowd surfing, telling the offenders, "You guys were grabbing her butt, don't do that."
