Mark Hamill, the 59-year-old American actor best known for playing 'Luke Skywalker' in the original Star Wars trilogy, has confirmed that he will be providing the voice of 'The Joker' in the forthcoming Batman video game 'Arkham City', developed by Rocksteady Studios, reports The news came as the game's official trailer was released onto the internet.
Hamill voiced Batman's arch-enemy in the extremely successful 2009 game 'Arkham Asylum', but there were questions as to whether he would return for the sequel. However, speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of new movie 'The Fighter', starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, Hamill confirmed that he has been working on the new project, admitting he had originally planned to "go out on a high-note", before being persuaded by "the powers that be" to stay on.
The news will excite fans of the Batman games, and the anticipation began to intensify yesterday (8th December 2010) as the trailer for 'Arkham City' was officially released onto the web. The short teaser clip confirms that the game will hit shelves in 'Autumn 2011'and features 'Batman' in typical fighting form.
