Celebrated fashion photographer Mario Testino has been presented with an honorary Obe medal in Britain.

The Peruvian-born snapper received the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (Obe) award, which is usually reserved for citizens of countries which have Queen Elizabeth Ii as head of state.

Testino was handed the prize by Britain's culture minister Ed Vaizey on Tuesday (14Jan14) in recognition of his charity work and photography, which includes iconic pictures of Diana, Princess of Wales and the official engagement photos of her son, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

The snapper says in a statement, "I am humbled by this honour and it means a great deal to receive it from the country that has trained me for the life I lead today and that has showed me the way to give back to others."
