Marie Osmond owes her new memoir to a house fire and a busybody pal.
The singer lost her journals in a blaze in 2005 and decided to try and recreate them while she could remember her life.
So she sat down with a friend and started reminiscing.
She says, "I had 30 years of journals that burned and so I asked my executive producer... I said, 'Hey, while I remember things, would you kinda jot 'em down?'
"Well, she shipped them off to my book publisher, and this is my new book."
The book, Might as Well Laugh about It Now, will hit stores in April (09).
