Mariah Carey - who recently revealed she is expecting her first child - says her pregnancy has inspired her to design a range of maternity wear.
Mariah Carey is hoping to design a line of maternity wear.
The singer recently revealed she and husband Nick Cannon are expecting their first child and Mariah said her changing figure has inspired her to look into designing clothing for mothers-to-be.
She told WWD: "It makes me really want to design a maternity line."
Mariah, 40, is already in the process of establishing her own fashion line, with a lifestyle collection for cable channel Home Shopping Network (HSN), which will include clothing footwear and her favourite items of clothing shoes.
While Mariah prefers high heels, Nick has recently been trying to convince the singer to wear flats during her pregnancy, although she has been in high heels for so long she feels more comfortable in them.
She said: "My husband brought me all these flats the other day, which were gorgeous, but kind of not comfortable for me. I can tolerate a high-heel shoe for hours on end."
Mariah's as yet untitled fashion range for HSN will be priced affordably with jewellery costing between £25 and £125, while shoes will cost between £40 and £105.
The designs are expected to heavily feature Mariah's favourite butterfly motif and some will include a limited edition version of her Luscious Pink fragrance and a personal note from the star.
