The singer appeared as a judge on the reality show in 2013.
Mariah Carey is one former ‘American Idol’ judge who definitely won’t be headed back to the table for the show’s final season, as the singer has described her 2013 stint on the series as the "worst experience of my life.” Carey has never shied away from criticising the show in the past, but when appearing on an Australian radio show Thursday, the singer went a little deeper into why she hated her ‘Idol’ experience so much.
Mariah doesn’t appear to have enjoyed her time on ‘American Idol’.

When asked if she would return to the show if asked back for its final season, Carey gave a resounding, "Hell no. Absolutely not.” During her time on the judging panel in 2013, Carey sat next to Randy Jackson, country singer Keith Urban and rapper Nicki Minaj whom she quickly butted heads with.

But while Carey was careful not to mention anyone by name, the signer did suggest sometimes disagreements on the show were milked for ratings, "Let's just say, I don't think they had any interest in us having a good experience through that show.”
"Pitting two females against each other wasn't cool," Carey continued."It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness. And I would never want to be involved with it again."
