The Minaj/Carey feud is getting more heated, if not more interesting.
Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are at it again. The clash of titans continued last night, when the pair couldn’t agree on whether they agreed on Angie Miller’s performance or not. It seemed like the two divas were saying the same thing about Miller, essentially singing her praises. Then they somehow turned it into a dispute about who said what, with Minaj mumbling during Carey’s criticism: “I didn’t say that.”
At one point, the dispute got so heated, that Nicky pulled out some cotton buds and waved them in front of Mariah’s face, urging the “We Belong Together” singer to “clean out her ears”. Ryan Seacrest, the show’s host, even had to step in and break those two apart. The disagreements and scowling continued throughout the night, but it never got quite as bad as after Angie’s performance, with the two judges limiting the tension to passive aggressive comments like Mariah’s critique to Angie: 'Back to the Billboard Hot 100 number ones, which you just performed, it is difficult to get and and not everyone has one, you did a great job.'
Not the most subtle of jabs, but then again American Idol isn’t exactly known for the carefully constructed jokes. So, in a nutshell, this is what happened last night (unless you’re one of the few souls, who actually care about the singing), leaving us to ponder just one question: how far have the ratings dropped, for the two divas to be so desperate to stir up drama?
If the contestants aren't enough to make the show watchable, you can always count on the judges.
