Brazilian music producer TOM CAPONE has died in a motorcycle crash after leaving the LATIN GRAMMY awards ceremony.
Capone, 37, had been nominated in five categories at the prestigious awards, including Producer of the Year - for his work with Grammy winning Brazilian singer Maria Rita and rock band SKANK - and Album of the Year.
Police say Capone - whose body will be tested for traces of alcohol - may have run a red light before the crash.
Capone died of "massive head trauma" after his motorcycle collided with a car on a major road, hours after the Latin Grammys ended on Wednesday night (01SEP04).
