Actress/comedienne Margaret Cho has enlisted artist Vincent Castiglia to paint a macabre portrait of her using her blood.
The Face/Off star reveals she was inspired by Castiglia's creepy collection, which he painted using his blood.
Last week (begs10Mar14), she visited his studio with a phlebotomist, who collected the first batch of blood needed to start the portrait.
She tells the New York Daily News, "I loved what he was doing. I think it's very primal, very ritualistic.
"His art is so finely detailed. And it's so masterful. It's beautiful... This is exciting to go through this process of collecting my blood and getting a portrait painted."
Cho plans to use the artwork for album covers and tour art when it is completed.
