Does 'World War Z' Have A Hidden Pro-North Korean Message?

Brad Pitt Marc Forster Damon Lindelof Christopher McQuarrie

Brad Pitt and Marc Forster's World War Z is undoubtedly a success given the state the movie was in some 6 months ago. Working on a huge budget, the zombie apocalypse movie was shaping up to be one of the biggest flops in cinematic history with murmurings of re-shoots, changed endings and discontent leaking from the set on a weekly basis.

According to a report in the New York Magazine's Vulture section, relations between Pitt and Forster became so fraught that the pair stopped speaking to each other altogether. Things apparently got so bad that when Forster had notes on a scene for Pitt, they had to be relayed through an intermediary.

World War Z Sequels Likely: More Zombies, Many More

Brad Pitt Marc Forster Damon Lindelof

A swarming army of angry de-humanised flesh eaters swarmed towards Hollywood carrying iPads and notebooks and a vicious critical eye. Wait, what?

Critics decried the Marc Forster-directed zombie action for its "dodgy acting" and "dull CGI" cinematography in a film said to be as riddled with illogical plotholes as a zombies' maggot-ridden brain. The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw in particular described the movie as "bloated and boring zombie action thriller that's been in production for so long I think I remember first hearing about it in the playground at primary school."

It's true - the film was in production for an awfully long time after the initial purchase of the film rights to Max Brooks' novel of the same name in 2007 but justified its creation with $118.8 million (£77.3m) in its first weekend of release, sparking interest in a sequel.

World War Z: How 2013's Most Ambitious Movie Got Made (Trailer)

Brad Pitt Matthew Michael Carnahan Marc Forster

A new trailer for Brad Pitt's spectacular looking new movie World War Z has hit the web, giving audiences an extended look at the Hollywood star playing a United Nations' researcher in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The first trailer, released last year, gave us plenty of zombies, plenty of explosions and a whole lot of Brad Pitt running from things, though the latest clip taps into the character's story.

"Daddy, what's martial law?" asks his daughter around the breakfast table in the opening scene of the trailer - a news story about the apocalypse plays in the background. Soon enough, urban mayhem breaks out and Pitt is forced to leave his family to protect the world from the running dead. He sets out on a dangerous journey to find a cure, at one point asking how he can reach Russia, hinting at a geographically expansive movie. "I think these things have a weakness," he says.

A new trailer has been released for Brad Pitt’s forthcoming zombie action movie World War Z. This latest dose of what to expect from the new movie, based on the World War Z book by Max Brooks has even more action sequences included, to whet the taste buds of thrill-hungry zombie fans. Brad plays the role of Gerry Lane, a man forced to leave his wife and children behind, in a bid to uncover the cause of a zombie pandemic and to stop the zombies in the tracks. Frankly, when you see the sheer number of rather agile-looking zombies that director Marc Forster (Quantum Of Solace) has crammed into this movie, you’ll realise that’s a tougher feat than it may first sound.

World War Z Trailer

Gerry Lane is a government employee whose job takes him on missions he never imagined he would take when a terrifying pandemic sweeps the globe. His idyllic family life with his loving wife and two young daughters is shaken when martial law is thrown into practise as a deadly rampage of bloodthirsty creatures ensues, consuming the entirety of Russia and is on the brink of overpowering the US. Humankind will come to an end in 90 days unless Gerry and other government officials can find a cure for the quickly spreading disease and discover the creatures' weakness. He does his best to fly his family to safety in a helicopter, but nobody is immune and his mission looks almost impossible as hundred foot walls aren't even big enough to keep the undead monsters at bay as they crawl easily across cities like insects. Will humankind unite once and for all to fight the biggest global threat in history?

World War Z Trailer

Gerry Lane is a United Nations employee with a family life anyone would wish for. When he, his wife Karen and his two daughters venture out for the day, not even the deadlocked city traffic can spoil their contentment with each other's company. However, when screaming starts to become heard in the distance and explosions are going off left, right and center, it begins to look like this won't be a regular family day out. Gerry does his best with his knowledge and his contacts to protect his family and fly them by helicopter to a safe location on the ocean as hoards and hoards of the raging, flesh-eating undead take over the city, filling up every street and every square. He is enlisted by the government to help find the cause of this outbreak, which is spreading rapidly across the world, wipe it out and salvage what's left of their beloved planet.

'World War Z' has been adapted from the novel 'World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War' by Max Brooks; a sequel to his book 'The Zombie Survival Guide'. Directed by Marc Forster and written by Damon Lindelof and Matthew Michael Carnahan, this dystopian zombie movie is by far one of the most horrific and deadly zombie movies to ever be released in Hollywood and will hit UK screens on June 21st 2013.

World War Z Preview: Sneak Peek At New Brad Pitt Zombie Movie

Brad Pitt Marc Forster

World War Z is upon us! Well, actually, World War Z is almost upon us...

The new Brad Pitt movie isn’t actually released until June 2013. Yes. June. 2013. That’s the middle of next year. But Entertainment Online have decided that if anyone’s going to start the hype early, it’s going to be them. “Only one man can save the world,” says their online trailer (they’re talking about Brad Pitt, by the way) “and only one show has the world exclusive first look” (they’re talking about their own show there, by the way).

Tomorrow (Thursday November 8, 2012), Entertainment Tonight will air their World War Z exclusive feature but in the mean time, you can catch a glimpse of what to expect from the movie in the brief trailer online. And what you can expect is a LOT of zombies. Like, a LOT of them. Piles and piles of zombies, cascading down a flight of stairs, more piles of zombies, storming around, trying to pile on top of each other and scale a wall. Just one, solitary zombie hurtling towards Brad Pitt, looking incredibly angry and hungry. More piles of zombies, writhing around, looking like the most expensive pile of zombies in movie history.

Machine Gun Preacher Review

Good
This remarkable true story resists being forced into a standard movie structure, which makes the film feel overlong as events seem to go in circles.

But the worthy story is packed with scenes that are suspenseful and inspiring.

Sam Childers (Butler) is at the end of his rope: just out of prison, still caught up in a wasted criminal life with pal Donnie (Shannon), and neglecting his wife Lynn (Monaghan) and their daughter Paige (Campos, then Carroll). Then at rock-bottom, Lynn's faith gets through to him, and he changes his life.
