Punk pioneer Malcolm McLaren is taking porn to the streets of New York City, by screening a series of steamy short movies on a giant TV screen in Times Square.
But tourists won't have to shield their eyes - the footage has been cleverly edited so that no nudity or sexual acts are shown.
The screenings begin on Thursday and run until 14 August (08).
MCLaren - who launched British rockers the Sex Pistols - tells the New York Daily News, "I've cut up old pieces of stag movies, slowed them down, and set them to music. What you see is not people having sex but people about to have it."
Passers-by will be able to listen to the music by calling a number on the screen.
MCLaren chose Times Square because it was once a seedy hotspot full of sex shops and peep shows. He explains, "Hundreds of people would walk down the street thinking about sex. Now the outlawed culture will live on."
