British actor Malcolm McDowell has never seen classic horror movie Halloween, and refused to watch the 1978 film after signing up to star in its remake. MCDowell stars as Dr. Sam Loomis - a role made famous by Donald Pleasance - in the Rob Zombie's new Halloween, and he didn't want his acting to be influenced by director John Carpenter's seminal slasher movie. He tells MTV News, "It's better not to have seen it. John Carpenter's a master, and he made an extraordinary film. We wouldn't be here at all today if it hadn't been for John Carpenter and Donald Pleasance. "I didn't want to be influenced by Donald Pleasance's performance."
