Kit Harington And Maisie Williams Tease 'Game Of Thrones' Season 7

Kit Harington Maisie Williams HBO

‘Game of Thrones’ stars Kit Harington and Maisie Williams have teased fans of the show with descriptions of how the upcoming seventh season might pan out.

The 29 year old actor, who plays Jon Snow, was speaking to The Hollywood Reporter this week, and was asked the obligatory question of whether he could tell them anything about the next season. Keeping it cagey, Harington replied that he felt it was going to be “very bleak”.

No George R. R. Martin Episode This Season, But Look At These Newcommers To "Game Of Thrones"

Maisie Williams Sophie Turner

Maybe we will get that sixth A Song of Ice and Fire book sometime this century (no rush, GRRM) after the notoriously patient creator announced that he would drop his screenwriting duties for a while to finish work on The Winds of Winter.

That might also explain why the character of Arienne Martell has been written out of the show entirely. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. So the Game of Thrones panel at Comic-Con happened and, as predicted, the full cast of season 5 was revealed.

Alexander Siddig
Alexander Siddig joins as Doran Martell for season 5. Yes, we approve.

The Game of Thrones team has announced nine new actors that will join the cast in season 5. Now, you're probably not going to recognise many of the names - but anyway. The news came during the GOT Comic Con panel, which featured Kit Harington, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Gwendoline Christie, Natalie Dormer, John Bradley, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Rory McCann, Pedro Pascal and Rose Leslie, along with producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and writer George RR Martin.

Among the new faces joining the show will be Alexander Siddig, who plays Doran Martell, the rule of Dorne and the older brother of the slain Oberyn. You might recognise Siddig from '24'.

Comic-Con 2014 For TV Nerds: Five Unmissable Panels

Maisie Williams Comic-Con Game Of Thrones

It’s that time again! Time for Comic-Con to make life a little bit weirder – and better – for four full days between July 24 and 27. It’s arguably the biggest entertainment convention in the world at this point, so attendees will practically be bombarded with panels, signings, exclusive content and, of course, merchandise for the full duration of the con. Some of it might even trickle down to those, who couldn’t make it, for whatever reason. With so much to do and see, we’ve rounded up the five absolutely unmissable events for any self-respecting TV nerd, starting with:

Game Of Thrones Recap: It's Over. Time For A Headcount

Kit Harington Charles Dance Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Lena Headey Maisie Williams Emilia Clarke

Let’s talk about the best Game of Thrones finale in the show’s history. Unless you haven’t seen it yet, in which case be warned – EVERYTHING BELOW THIS IS SPOILERS.

Valar Morghulis and as it turned out, some women. The show’s motto proved true again last night, as the writers broke tradition and actually gave us some crucial plot twists in the season wrapup.

The episode opened with Jon Snow north of the wall and trying to negotiate a truce with Mance Rayder, aka the king of the Free Folk. Save for a few bruises to Jon’s ego, the whole thing seemed to be going pretty well. That is, until Stannis and his sizeable army came in for the most boring invasion ever, in classic Stannis style. The whole truce thing went down the drain, but it’s ok because it turns out that Stannis has no beef with the crows whatsoever. He doesn’t even have any beef with Mance, after Jon vouched for him. Isn’t it great when everyone’s being all honorable?

"Game Of Thrones" Season Finale Preview: Did It Just Get Emotional In Here? [Video]

Charles Dance Lena Headey Maisie Williams Kit Harington Emilia Clarke

With the biggest and best Game of Thrones season finale so far (according to the writers) just a day away, HBO have released a sneak preview of the carnage to come (beware of spoilers for the previous three episodes). The clip is just 35 seconds long, but it does give a glimpse of the relevant storylines. In flashes, we see Bran and his band of misfits arrive at the heart tree, which they’ve been traveling to all season. Will we get to see Bran go full-on warg and finally control his power? And what’s the Reeds’ role in all of this? As Bran’s protectors/guides to the spirit world, they will probably get to shine at the end of this journey.

Watch the preview below.

Meanwhile, in King’s Landing, Cercei appears to be having a very bitter heart-to-heart with The World’s Worst Dad, Tywin Lannister. It looks like he’ll finally have to face the whole incest issue and the fact that his family is generally falling apart.

Brace Yourselves For The "Game Of Thrones" Season Finale - The Writers Are Finishing Strong This Year

Peter Dinklage Emilia Clarke Maisie Williams

The fourth season of Game of Thrones has ignited a lot of controversy, which on a show all about sex, murder and little bit of politics, is really saying something. With the season finale coming next week, fans who are already caught up on the books can just sit back and watch the rest of us fry as we wait for the mindblowing (or completely anti-climactic) final episode to unfold. After all, the showrunners have been known to fire off all their plot twists pre-finale before. Take The-Event-That-Must-Not-Be-Named of season 3 for example.

Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
Tyrion's life is at stake for the finale.

Fortunately, the folks behind Thrones are promising a much more thrilling conclusion to season 4. According to Entertainment Weekly, next week’s episode will break the narrative pattern, set by previous season – big shocking event in the ninth episode, and then a quieter wrap-up in the finale.

"Game Of Thrones" Episode 3 Recap: Whodunit? Who Cares?

Emilia Clarke Lena Headey Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Peter Dinklage Maisie Williams Sophie Turner

Before talking about this week’s Game of Thrones, we should probably dish out the warnings with a heavy hand. Beware of ALL THE SPOILERS for Season 4 Episode 3 Breaker of Chains. Also, this should go without saying, but all the trigger warnings: sexual assault, violence and various very graphic murders. Now that that’s out of the way…

Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
Looks like Tyrion is about to reach the end of the line. We're betting on a plot twist though...

This episode sets up like a classic whodunit. With Joffrey dead (good riddance, although Jack Gleeson’s acting will be missed), Lord Tywin is trying to prepare little Tommen for his new role as king. The boy wants to be a “good king”, which would be admirable, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s like 12. Cercei, meanwhile, is only concerned with who killed her son. Well, she’s also concerned with getting revenge on Tyrion, whom she thinks is the killer, finding Sansa (who escaped during the commotion caused by Joff’s death) and just a bit of incest next to Joff’s body, but that’s just standard Westeros fare at this point.

"Game Of Thrones" Premiere: Ratings, Recap, Headcount

Peter Dinklage Pedro Pascal Maisie Williams

In not entirely unexpected news today, it turns out that despite pirating and the crash of HBO Go, the Game of Thrones season premiere still aired to record ratings. According to TV Guide, the premiere drew in 6.6 million viewers on Sunday night, making it HBO's most-watched program since The Sopranos' series finale in 2007, which drew 11.9 million. This is up from all previous records set by Thrones, including the season 3 premiere, which recorded 4.4 million viewers and the previous champion episode – the sixth episode of season 3, which was watched by 5.5 million people.

Kit Harington
Jon Snow is 100% done caring about the game.

Now it’s time for the recap. Do we even need to say it at this point? SPOILERS AHEAD. Seriously, so many spoilers. If you have not seen Two Swords and do not wish to get spoiled, turn back now. Ok, now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about character development.

George R. R. Martin Might Have Made Some Heads Explode With New Chapter From "The Winds Of Winter"

Maisie Williams George R. R. Martin

George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series has become notorious for plenty of things, not all of them good – long, entertaining, full of food, political intrigue, sex and murder, well-written characters and of course, painfully long periods between each book. With five SoIaF titles out, Martin’s writing process has become something of a running joke online. So when he released a chapter – yes, that’s right, he’s doing it one chapter at a time now – of the next book, The Winds of Winter, the internet exploded.

George R. R. Martin
George R. R. Martin - writer, destroyer of mental health.

The book, with a release date yet to be determined, will be the sixth installment in the series and is a long time coming after 2011′s “A Dance With Dragons.” Martin has said the series will contain a total of seven books, a la Harry Potter, with the final installment — “A Dream of Spring” — also in the pipeline. Of course, no release date has been announced for that one either.

No More "Game Of Thrones" Trailers, But Have Some Behind-The-Scenes Featurettes Before The Premiere

Kit Harington Maisie Williams Peter Dinklage

It’s (almost) Game of Thrones time. No, we’re not shutting up about it, if you were wondering. HBO’s inescapable marketing is at least partly to blame for the flood of Thrones-related madness online these days. The company just released two All Men Must Die trailers last week, but now, with just a week to go until the HBO premiere, they’ve dropped four clips of behind-the-scenes footage.

Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones Premiere
Peter Dinklage stars as the frequently mistreated Tyrion Lannister.

So there will be nothing more revealed of the story, before the premiere makes us all cry all over again (we know you have), but the new videos are still chock full of interesting tidbits of information about the process of making HBO’s most ambitions production yet.

"Game Of Thrones" Trailer #4: Baby Starks And General Gloom And Doom

Peter Dinklage Maisie Williams Sophie Turner

Hear ye, hear ye! The fourth and final Game of Thrones trailer is now live for everyone to enjoy… which essentially means we get the same scenes and voiceovers, only in a different cut and with new background music. We have to hand it to those GoT people – they sure know how to pick a soundtrack.

Watch the trailer below and be even more excited for Season 4 (if that’s even possible.)

Some new things that are made obvious in this cut – and there definitely isn’t much to go on – is that the next generation of Starks will play a much more important role this season. We saw in previous trailers that Bran’s warg-ness is getting stronger, so he will probably get at the very least a couple of cool scenes in season 4.

The Women Of 'Game Of Thrones': Who Wins, Who Dies, Who Gets It On In Season 4?

Lena Headey Emilia Clarke Maisie Williams Sophie Turner Natalie Dormer

Let’s talk Game of Thrones. After the second Season 4 trailer, aptly titled Vengeance, was released, the internet – to put it mildly – went nuts. Because no one will be able to stop talking about GoT until April, let’s go into some details. Namely – what’s happening to the ladies in Thrones this season? The women on this show have been particularly disadvantaged from the start, presumably because the action is set in a magical, mystical equivalent of the middle ages. This season Cercei, Daenerys, Arya, Sansa and the rest of them won’t suffer any fools, by the looks of it.

Maisie Williams, Screen Actors Guild Awards After-Party
Maisie Williams (Arya) - your favorite little sociopath wants revenge.

The trailer begins with Arya (Maisie Williams) saying “I can’t sleep until I say the names... the ones I’m going to kill.” You already know some serious vengeance is about to go down. Although in the trailer, we mostly see her wondering around aimlessly after the death of her mother and brother, so maybe our favorite little murderer isn’t ready to begin her reign of terror yet.

15-minute "Game Of Thrones" Preview Teases The Fate Of Our Favorite Westeros Residents

Game of Thrones got a treat last week, with a rather unusual 15-minute promo of the upcoming fourth season. It featured some things we expected and few surprises (given that it was a promo), but it’s sure to spur on the Thrones speculation ahead of the series 4 premiere on April 6.

The War Wages On In The 'Game Of Thrones' Season 4 Trailer [Watch]

Emilia Clarke Maisie Williams Peter Dinklage

If you thought red weddings, white walkers and Wildling takeovers were exciting last season, wait until you see what's in store for season four of HBO's epic Game of Thrones. On Sunday, 12 January, the first trailer for the new season was aired on HBO, with said trailer going viral soon after.

Emilia Clarke
Emilia Clarke is back as the ass-kicking Daenerys Targaryen

As this is Game of Thrones, don't expect the trailer to be anything short of a major dose of excitement and drama, even if it is just over a minute long. There's dragons, witches and threats of war on all fronts in the trailer, and if that wasn't enough excitement there are some fairly clear hints of what story developments are going to be on offer too, the most obvious one being the marriage of everyone's least favourite incest-born creep King Joffrey to the lovely Margaery Tyrell. We're probably not alone in hoping she turns evil.

And Breathe: Audience Catches A Break With Game Of Thrones Finale [Recap]

Peter Dinklage Lena Headey Maisie Williams Emilia Clarke Kit Harington

This week on Game of Thrones, viewers were let off easy for the finale – the producers probably realised that we are all still recovering from last week’s episode and the Red Wedding. But there were still a number of plot twists (beware of spoilers ahead.) After witnessing the brutal murders of some of her last remaining family members, Arya Stark got some measure of revenge by stabbing one of Walder Fray’s soldiers, as her captor-turned-companion Sandor "The Hound" Clegane took care of the soldier’s comrades. Obviously, the violence will keep getting worse from here on, but after last week’s episode, Thrones fans seem to be able to stomach anything.

Then we had Jaime Lannister, finally back at King’s Landing and reunited with his twin sister Cersei, while Jon Snow had a reunion of another kind, returning to the night’s watch, after escaping the wrath of his scorned lover, wildling Ygritte. On two opposite sides of the GoT universe, two very different characters continued their journeys. While Bran walked on towards his destination north of the wall – a journey, which still seems rather inexplicable, Daenerys Targeryen continued to build her power through the love of her people and finally freed the slaves of Yunkai. While some rise and others fall, as usual in the game of thrones (which you win or you die, as Robb Stark and co. reminded us last week) something altogether darker and more sinister is brewing north of the wall – the White Walkers and their army of undead.

Of course, we got the occasional quip from Tyrion Lannister (the ever entertaining Peter Dinklage) to lighten the mood, but after recent events, let’s just say that there’s a whole lot of lightening to do.

Maisie Williams Tops The List For Best Reaction To Game Of Thrones' 'The Rains Of Castamere' Ending [Video]

Maisie Williams Game Of Thrones

Just about everyone watching this weeks instalment of Game Of Thrones - bar those who have read the books that is - either decided that they had witnessed one of the most shocking and amazing television episode ever, or decided they were through with serious drama for a while and best go back to the sanctity of cartoons. Either way, the shock ending must have gotten a reaction out of even the most stone faced of people, but Ayra Stark herself, actress Maisie Williams, may have had the best one.

(The rest of this article contains spoilers) So, we farewell to more than a few characters by the end of 'The Rains of Castamere,' with Robb Stark paying the ultimate price for turning down Marriage to one of Walder Frey's daughters in favour of Talisa, but maybe a few is an understatement considering pretty much all of the Stark army was killed, as was Catelyn. So in a way it make perfect sense that the youngest Stark daughter would have the most priceless reaction to the ending of the episode, after all, it could have been her too.
