The pop star admits she was impressed with Michael Moore's provocative film, and it inspired her to be more vocal about her politics.
She says, "I think Michael Moore is a fantastic filmmaker and Bowling For Columbine was a very important film. It made me realise that I've been put in this world for a reason and I want to be able to do something really important."
And Madonna isn't wasting any time.
She adds, "One of the biggest problems that exists in the world right now is nuclear waste and that's something that I've been involved with for quite a while.
"I'm with a group of scientists and we're finding a way to neutralise radiation, believe it or not."
