Madonna arrived at Haiti to visit her ex-husband Sean Penn and he "is thrilled" that she can now see how his humanitarian work has changed the damaged nation.
Madonna is well known for her work with different charities and now she is heading to Haiti to visit several humanitarian projects.
These projects are run by her ex-husband, Hollywood actor Sean Penn's aid organisation, 'J/P Haitian Relief Organization'.
Penn has been working in the Caribbean nation since the natural disaster that occurred during 2010, which was a disastrous earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 that destroyed Haiti, killing more than 100,000 people.
The 'Gangster Squad' actor spoke to The Associated Press in a phone interview where he discussed bringing Madonna, with whom he has "maintained a great friendship over the years," to visit.
Sean said Madge arrived with her son, Rocco, "couple of days" but wasn't sure how long her stay would be. "She's here, she's seeing, she's made the effort to come here, and I'm thrilled by that," he continued.
Penn recognises the 'Time Goes By' singer's position in pop culture and the amount of exposure she could bring to the fallen nation would help massively as he said, "She has a unique platform, and wherever she chooses to bring that to, it's very well."
Madonna's trip has been documented by photographs posted on Instagram, with one being in a newly built hospital, the caption read, "In the magnificent hospital Paul Farmer has built in Mirebalais! Revolution of Love in Haiti".
Her 'Revolution of Love' phrase was also used last time her and Penn were reunited. The pair met during the premiere of a film called 'secretprojectrevolution', a project part of Madonna's 'Art For Freedom' initiative that promotes free speech as a way to address persecution and injustice around the world.
Could the 55 year-old make another short film, this time for Haiti? Sean probably hopes so.
