A dedicated fan of pop queen Madonna is being detained under Britain's MENTAL HEALTH ACT for attempting to break into the star's English home.

The unnamed German man had travelled for three days to the American Life singer's $14.4 million (GBP9 million) ASHCOMBE ESTATE in Wiltshire, west England but was arrested after staff spotted him allegedly trying to break in.

Madonna, her movie director husband Guy Ritchie, and children LOURDES and ROCCO, were not at home at the time.

Local police say they will not be taking action against the fan because they believe him to be mentally unwell.

Police Constable GRAHAM BRIANT says, "There is no evidence or suggestion that he intended to cause anybody any harm or distress."
