Madonna is designing her own range of sunglasses.

The 'Material Girl' singer has teamed up with Italian designers Dolce And Gabbana to create a collection of eyewear, which bear the letter 'M' on the arm.

Gabbana said: "We're so excited. This further strengthens our relationship with Madonna, and it was a very constructive experience for us. She is very exacting and a professional who seeks perfection in everything she does, and this was no exception."

Madonna - who fronts this season's Dolce and Gabbana campaign - also stars in the advertising images for the sunglasses line, which were shot by Steven Klein and will be released in May to coincide with the launch.

Last week, it was revealed Madonna is launching a fashion line and is creating the range, named MG Icon, in joint venture with her manager Guy Oseary and Iconix.

Madonna said in a statement: "Joining forces with Iconix to bring my fashion ideas to consumers is very exciting for me.

"I look forward to working closely with Neil Cole of Iconix and his team to create and translate my vision and ideas for MG Icon."
