Sony Music will release Luther Vandross 'The Greatest Hits' as a special release only in the UK.

A soul singer/songwriter with a career that spanned 35 years with 14 studio albums and 8 Grammy Awards, Luther Vandross was regarded as one of the greatest male vocalists of all time. Coupled with his voice Luther Vandross' unique ability to write and sing emotive songs has seen his name continue to influence and his tracks resonate with the public long since he passed away nearly 10 years ago in 2005. As the UK sees a recent surge in soul and R&B infused music, Luther's work is more relevant than ever. Artists such as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith, Sam Smith, Ella Eyre, Rita Ora, Ella Henderson and Ed Sheeran have all been influenced by Luther's tone, range and versatility.

Nile Rodgers - "To this very day every record I make is basically some variation on that Luther theme, on that original session we did when we first started Chic."

Alicia Keys - "I think he's such a wonderful man that's left behind such a beautiful legacy. That's something that will truly inspire generations to come . His voice puts you in a space you can't help traveling through.

Mariah Carey - "It was intimidating to stand next to him, Luther was incomparable - his voice was velvety, smooth, airy, with an unmistakable tone."

The never heard before single track 'Love It, Love It' is a highlight of this greatest hits release and brings back the upbeat and soulful sounds of the much loved multi-platinum-selling artist. The original recording of the track was from 1994, around the time of the album release 'Never Let Me Go'.
