The trailer has been released for upcoming horror-drama, Dracula Untold, ahead of the movie's autumn release. As the title might suggest, the Gary Shore movie finds a new angle on the classic folk tale and tells the story of the notorious Dracula's origins from Romanian royalty to fered creature of the night.

Luke Evans is cast in the lead role as Vlad 'The Impaler' Tepes, Prince of Wallachia, who is a warrior with a fearsome reputation. Vlad's leadership is put to the test as Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper) announces that he needs a thousand boys to join his army.

To protect his own son and family, Vlad sets out to find a way to make sure that none of his people must face the dangers of war. He seeks the help of an ancient vampire (Charles Dance), a dark beast with the power to transform him into Dracula with his own set of powers.

The immortal, blood-drinking Dracula uses his strength and ability to command swarms of bats to protect his people but finds that very few people are welcoming towards his new and terrifying form.

The ancient lore of Dracula has been rehashed countless times by Hollywood, but Shore's Dracula Untold, which is written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, looks at the human behind the monster and how the desire to protect the people he loved could have driven him to make the drastic and violent decisions that earned him such a fearsome reputation.

Dracula Untold will be released on the 3rd October in the UK and the 17th October in the USA.
