Rapper/actor Ludacris has been honoured alongside Halle Berry and Danny Glover at the annual Trumpet Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. The Stand Up MC - real name Christopher Bridges - was presented with the Usher Raymond Altruism Award for his work in the music industry and his local community at the ceremony, which took place in his native Atlanta on Sunday (13Jan08). He was particularly praised for his work and initiatives with his Ludacris Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping young people achieve their dreams. Screen beauty Berry was feted with the Entertainment Pinnacle Award for her success in Hollywood, while Lethal Weapon star Glover was recognised for his philanthropic efforts with the Humanitarian Award. The Trumpet Awards celebrate the accomplishments of African-Americans who have garnered success in their chosen career or field and inspired others to do the same.
