The star, who has hosted the Latin Grammy Awards eight times and the Mexican Telethon since 1997, will front the new ceremony when it hits the stage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on 8 October (15).

Lucero also coached pop wannabes on the first season of TV talent show La Voz Mexico.

Paulina Rubio, Daddy Yankee, Shaggy, Lil Jon, Yandel and Gloria Trevi will be among the performers on the big night, and Colombian sensation Maluma and singer/actress Aymee Nuviola will lead a tribute to late salsa legend Celia Cruz.

Nuviola portrays Cruz in new Telemundo network TV series Celia.
