I Am John
I Am John, is the name of 'Lonely, Dears' new single. Someone aptly described Loney, dear as 'soulful indie folk with a powerful mini orchestra.' Layer upon layer, adding instrumentation and vocals, his songs seem to bloom like time-lapse photography, depicting glimpsed scenes of modern disaffection and timeless yearning. ‘Loney, Noir’ is simultaneously effervescent and resigned, exhilarating and melancholy, joyous and confessional.
‘I Am John’, the first single to be lifted of ‘Loney, Noir’, is a perfect testament to this. Appearing quietly out of nowhere, the song builds steadily before exploding in a rapturous crescendo. It has been a clear live favourite since Loney, dear first reached our shores last summer supporting Peter, Bjorn And John.
