Bio coming soon........
Ten years ago today (27OCT16) Amy Winehouse released her second album Back to Black, which was to become her final record following her untimely death in 2011. The follow-up to her debut Frank was a critical and commercial success around the world, making singer-songwriter Winehouse a household name and thrusting her into the limelight. It topped the charts in the star's native Britain and reached number two in the U.S. Lead single Rehab became her only top 10 hit in America. The hugely personal album, produced by Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, also spawned tracks You Know I'm No Good, Back to Black, Tears Dry on Their Own and Love Is a Losing Game. In 2008 it won Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammy Awards and Rehab was named Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She won five of her six nominations but was unable to attend and perform at the ceremony as her visa was denied while she was seeking treatment for drug addiction. Sales of Back to Black surged after her death, aged 27, with the album even returning to the number one in some European countries. As of late 2015, it had sold 3.59 million copies in the U.K., making it the 13th best-selling album of all time in the country. ** Amy Winehouse performs at Lollapalooza Featuring: Amy Winehouse performs at Lollapalooza Where: Lollapalooza, Illinois, United States When: 05 Aug 2007
The rapper’s set was shut down after only five minutes.
Travis Scott’s Lollapalooza set lasted all of five minutes on Saturday after it was shut down when the rapper told fans to jump the barricades and join him on stage. The long-running three day festival is currently taking place in Chicago's Grant Park and finishes on Sunday (August 2nd).
Travis Scott was arrested following his Lollapalooza appearance on Saturday.
According to Chicago’s ABC7 news, Scott was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, with police saying the rapper had tried to urge the crowd to ignore security and rush the stage. A video posted on Twitter shows footage of the alleged incident where the rapper can be heard chanting, “We want rage.”
Muse take their last European date of the year to Lollapalooza.
The final line-up announcements have been made for Lollapalooza 2015 in Berlin, with festival regulars Muse topping the bill and marking their fourth appearance at the legendary festival which takes place in September this year.
This year sees Lollapalooza hit Europe for the very first time, having previously only ever opened in the Americas - Chicago; Santiago, Chile; São Paulo, Brazil; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. And with its Germany premiere at the former Tempelhof Airport on September 12th - 13th, the line-up will also include a DJ set from the event's founder Perry Farrell, formerly the frontman of Jane's Addiction.

The festival expands its international appeal even further as it finally crosses the pond.
Lollapalooza is set to make its European debut as the festival lands in Berlin in the latest expansion scheme. Known for its events in South America and Chicago, it will be a completely different change of scenery - which can only be a good thing.
Lollapalooza hits Berlin!
Originally curated by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell back in the 90s, the 00s saw Lollapalooza tour the States before settling in Chicago for 2-3 days a year. With increased popularity due to some of the seminal bands that have appeared on the roster over the years, in 2011 it made its international debut with dates in Santiago, Chile; São Paulo, Brazil in addition the following year; and Buenos Aires, Argentina as well in 2013. In 2015, it's expanding to include two dates in Berlin, Germany, and festival organisers are hoping to hold it at the historical Tempelhof Airport.

The Lollapalooza lineup for 2014 is here - and it's awesome
Lollapalooza has sold out of three-day general tickets. Got that? No more tickets. Which is a shame, considering that one hell of a line-up has just been announced including Eminem, Kings Of Leon and Outkast. More than 100 bands and artists will perform on eight stages at Grant Park - and there's still an opportunity to see some of your favorite bands.
One-day passes to the extravaganza are still available, though, of course, it means that you need to be pretty selective with who you're wanting to see perform. One-day passes are pretty reasonably priced at $100 - which is pretty damn good considering the amount of bands you're going to see.

Eminem is headed to Grant Park for Lollapalooza
Overall, over 130 artists have now been confirmed with Arctic Monkeys playing just before Eninem, giving the British rockers their most prominent US festival slot to date. Lorde will play underneath with Above & Beyond, Interpol, Chvrches, AFI, The Kooks, Rudimental, Iggy Azalea, Bombay Bicycle Club and Warpaint all appearing on August 1st. The next day Calvin Harris supports Outkast with Nas, Chase & Status, Kate Nash and Foster the People also on the bill. The final day sees the Avett Brothers, Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper, The 1975 and White Denim all appearing on the line up with Skrillex and Kings of Leon.
Phoenix's Lollapalooza set proved the band's recent success isn't just a fluke.
As Thomas Mars – the lead singer of Phoenix – explained, "Usually on Sunday night people are really tired.” He was talking about festivals, and he was right, bit he and his band had something planned. "This," he said as the catchy into to 1901 began behind him, "is something different."
Tired crowd or not, the band rocked the final night of Lollapalooza.
So blistering was their closing set, that Rolling Stone have called it “the best performance of the entire weekend.” And this on a record weekend - 300,000 people descended upon Grant Park for the three-day festival, which featured eight stages and 130 acts.

Lollapalooza closed with The Cure, Cat Power, Phoenix and Knife Party. Who else performed on day 3 of the Chicago bash?
"If they pull the plug on this song, you'll have to keep on singing," ordered The Cure's Robert Smith, preparing to play 'Boys Don't Cry' at the end of an ecstatically-received, hit-filled set. The British New Romantics showed that despite mainstream's music current trend for dubstep and electro, the punk roots of music will always hold dear for fans who can still identify with the frontman's penchant for melancholic ballads, backcombed hair and blood red lipstick.
The Cure Showed Their Ability To Still Draw An Enthusiastic Crowd.
Rob Carroll at Plan!tNorthwest described the rockers set as "a fitting headliner to bring Lollapalooza in for a soft landing" with minimal interaction between band and crowd , whilst The Guardian vow that "Robert Smith's ultra-expressive face gives us the most passion and raw emotion from any performer we've seen over the past three days."

It seems a long, long time since Disclosure’s first single Offline Dexterity, though the British electronic duo have gone from strength to strength in recent years and finally released their debut album, Settle, on PMR Records on June 2, 2013.It was met with both commercial and critical success, including a score of 9.1 from the notoriously picky musos at Pitchfork – no mean feat.
Sure, we’d rather see Disclosure in a club - perhaps in the early hours of the morning – though Lollapalooza-goers will have to settle for 6pm at The Grove, on Friday (August 2, 2013). Saying that, both Guy and Howard will be DJ’ing at The Mid club in Chicago’s West Town from 10pm on Friday.
