Hip-hop veteran LL Cool J is suing clothing line FUBU, claiming bosses have failed to compensate him correctly for his role as the company's pitch man.

The HEADSPRUNG rapper has modelled for the label in the past, but the relationship has since turned sour, according to American TV show CELEBRITY Justice.

Under statement of facts, the rapper's lawyers say of the star, "(He is) one of the most enduring musical performing and recording artists of his generation... and is one of the most accomplished rap artists of all time.

"(He) catapulted from overnight hip-hop sensation to bonafide cross-culture phenomenon."
