British singer Little Boots has apologised to fans after her upcoming appearance at a music festival in Poland was axed.

The star was due to perform at the Freeform Festival in Warsaw, Poland over the weekend (13-14Oct12) but the slot has been cancelled.

Little Boots has not given a reason for the move, but insists she is deeply upset over the decision.

She writes in a post on her Twitter.com page, "Polish fans: huge apologies we will not be playing Freeform festival this wknd (sic), this a decision from the festival organisers and is... entirely out of control, I am gutted this has happened and hope we can work something out to come and play for you very soon, apologies."

A statement posted on the festival's website reads, "We regret to inform you that Little Boots has been cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of the organiser. We apologise for the situation."
