Singer Lisa Marie Presley is eternally grateful to Scientology for rescuing her from her drug-addled teenage years.
The religion founded in 1954 by sci-fi guru L RON HUBBARD has proved popular with many celebrities, and the daughter of ELVIS claims it has helped her make sense of the complexities of life.
She explains, "It doesn't tell me what I have to believe. It's kind of a science of life and it's explained really well to me the mind, people, myself, relationships with others. It's not just somebody preaching.
"The reason I think so many celebrities are attracted to it is because (Hubbard) had a really deep understanding of what an artist is, that they have a place and they have a purpose in what they're doing."01/07/2003 21:06
