We’ve lost count of how many times Lindsay Lohan has tried to get her life back on track, but this latest time is different, she’s never had Oprah Winfrey fighting her corner before. "All I can say about it is this: I believe that she believes that she is ready to move forward in her life," Winfrey told Today Show’s AL Roker, according to US Magazine. "And we'll see."

Winfrey has recently returned to the big screen after over a decade away from it in Lee Daniel’s The Butler.

She plays the wife of Forest Whitaker’s character, Cecil Gaines, and is already being talked about in Oscar conversations for what looks like a powerful turn.

And, having recently picked up a script, she reveals that she’s a fan of Lohan’s work on screen."I'm anxious to see whether or not this young woman, who is a really, really fine actress, will be able to allow us into her life and let us see the trajectory of trying to put the pieces back together," Winfrey said.

It’s clear some part of Lohan’s troubles stem from her fame; she’s known the world over and was suddenly endowed with a more money than stuff to spend it on. “When the Oprah show was first syndicated, and all of a sudden I'm in the tabloids and people are saying things about me that aren't true...I didn't know what to do," a wise Winfrey rememberd. "But I had the good sense to rely on people who'd been before me."
