Lindsay Lohan's publicist has explained why the actress cancelled a TV interview at the last minute this week (beg20Jun11), putting the scrapped slot down to a case of "miscommunication" and insisting there was "no drama".
The troubled actress, who is currently serving three months under house arrest for a parole violation, opened up her home to cameras from America's Today show on Wednesday (22Jun11) for an interview with host Matt Lauer, but called off the chat before the tapes rolled.
The news came on the same day Lohan was reported to have failed a court-ordered alcohol test and been ordered back in front of a judge.
Lohan's representative Steve Honig has confirmed the interview was scrapped, but insists there was no suspicious reason for the cancellation.
He tells E! News, "We thought this was going to be a quick, brief check-in with the Today show. You know, how's she doing, what she's been up to. She likes to cook, so I thought she might cook something up for them. But Lindsay wasn't prepared to do a lengthy, two-hour in-depth interview. There was no drama, no door slamming. It was a case of miscommunication... Ultimately I told Matt Lauer we weren't doing it, not Lindsay. She felt very badly about it."
Honig has also insisted the interview didn't fall through because of money issues, confirming no fees were involved.
The Mean Girls star received a 120-day jail sentence for violating her parole from a 2007 Dui case by taking a necklace from a California jewellery store, but it was changed to house arrest due to prison overcrowding.
She is due to appear before a Los Angeles court judge on Thursday (23Jun11).
