Lindsay Lohan regrets driving under the influence.

The troubled actress - who was arrested twice for the offence in 2007 and has subsequently endured a string of legal problems stemming from the probation set for the convictions and has been in rehab nine times - knows her actions were wrong and will never drive drunk again.

Asked what one thing about her life she would change, she said: ''I would never have got behind the wheel of a car after having a drink. Ever.''

Lindsay - who is currently starring in West End play 'Speed-the-Plow' - has become well known for her personal problems and partying lifestyle which have overshadowed her career in recent years, and while she admits she lost ''focus'', she is now determined to get back on track because she finds work ''therapeutic''.

She explained in an interview with Britain's Marie Claire magazine: ''Acting is what I do, it's therapeutic for me, it's fun for me.

''Yes it's my job but I never went into it because it was like work, I got into it because it made me happy.

''At the end of the day that's the most important thing. The diligence and focus you have to have, that I maybe lost sight of for a little bit... Well I'm prepared now to deliver and all I can do is my best.''
