Lindsay went on to explain that she and Emmett decided on the script together, with the pair going on to say that Lindsay will have a considerable amount of control over the film when shooting does get under way. Having served as an executive producer on last year's universally-panned The Canyons, her creative role on Inconceivable will be much bigger this time around, as the actress looks to return to the movie industry in a big way.
Last year's The Canyons was not well received by critics
"It's therapeutic for me to throw myself into something that really excites me and something that I love to do so much," she told reporters. "There's nothing better than having seen all of your ideas and thoughts that you've been thinking about to come to fruition and to share that with people. I think that's why I've always loved making movies so much. So it's nice to be able to have another position in the film rather than just showing up and being on the set."
Lindsay's 2013 filmography is being recognised this awards season
With no director or further cast members signed on for the film yet, Lindsay did say that she has some ideas already up her sleeve. Telling the audience that her dream co-star would be Jessica Lange, she also said, "I even approached Juliette Lewis and was emailing some other people," with Emmett adding that they hope a director will be decided upon and announced before the end of the month.
Providing everything goes as scheduled, the new film might be finished in time to air at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, but for now we'll have to play it by ear.
