Lindsay Lohan's mother has been sentenced to community service after reaching a plea deal in her driving while intoxicated (Dwi) case.
Dina Lohan was arrested in her native Long Island, New York in September (13) after she was allegedly caught speeding. She failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody, where she was booked for Dwi and speeding.
In April (14), Lohan reached a plea deal, in which she had to undergo 100 hours of community service, attend a mandatory drinking and driving awareness programme and a victim impact panel. She was also ordered to install an interlocking device in her car to prevent her from getting behind the wheel while intoxicated again.
She has also had her licence revoked and has to pay a series of legal fees and fines, according to Tmz.com.
During official sentencing on Tuesday (03Jun14), a judge told Dina, "The only person responsible for this ordeal is Ms. Lohan. She is just lucky nobody was killed. She may not be as lucky next time."
She replied, "There will not be a next time."
