The couple collaborated with its kids and friends on Deer Sounds, which was released on Friday (18Sep15) on the 2015 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee's label, Custard Media Inc.

Perry tells WENN, "The songs started showing up when our son Rhodes was born. I would hold him and sing. I started to record the songs with my iPhone thinking, 'Hmm, this might turn into something'.

"When I played some of the songs on the piano we all felt there was a children's album in the making, so we teamed up and started what was the beginning of Deer Sounds."

Former Roseanne star Gilbert adds, "We just wanted to do something fun that the whole family could be a part of. The intention behind Deer Sounds was sweet, innocent and organic. Creating for kids, with kids, as kids. How can you go wrong?"

To support the album's release, Gilbert and Perry, who wed last year (14), will launch a series of original content such as recipes, activities, printable guides and other inspirational content for kids and families via lifestyle website Pinterest.
