Pop star Lily Allen has thanked fans after they helped raise $5,760 (£3,600) for charity by bidding to join the singer for a day out.
The Smile hitmaker offered up the chance for one lucky devotee to accompany her to a sporting event in her native U.K. as part of a celebrity auction on Twitter.com in aid of British charity Comic Relief.
And she was delighted on Monday (21Mar11) when she learned the winning bid to join her at a soccer or cricket match - or spend an evening being pampered at her designer clothes store Lucy In Disguise instead - came in at $5,760.
In a post on her Twitter blog, she writes, "£3,600, well whoever won, thank you. You'll enjoy it, I promise."
Other stars to donate lots to the auction include Matt Lucas, Leona Lewis, Simon Pegg, Ruby Wax, and the Pet Shop Boys.
